T Minus 24 Hours

We are now less than 24 hours away from starting a new chapter in our lives and a new journey in ministry. Today we spend the day loading and cleaning and then early tomorrow morning we will head north to Gaylord, Michigan and our new venture with the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church (GEFC).

We are thankful to the Lord for the 6+ years we had here in Lititz, Pennsylvania. We saw God do some absolutely amazing and wonderful things in our ministry and in our family. We are leaving behind some "lifetime friends" that we will miss deeply. In fact, one of these couples, Randy and Brenda, are actually driving with us to Michigan to help us in our initial move. That's what makes it "bittersweet." We know without a doubt that God has worked in specific and remarkable ways to lead us to Gaylord, but we will miss the people we leave behind in a deep, deep way.

We do hope that those of you in Pennsylvania will keep in contact with us. I will be keeping my current email address (skdistler@gmail.com). Though we close on our house March 28, we do not get occupancy until April 11. So in the meantime, anything you would like to send us via snail mail can be sent to the following address:

Gaylord, Michigan 49734

I will also be continuing to regularly post here on this blog and will also plan to continue my "Hope For Hurting Pastors" blog as well at http://www.hurtingpastor.blogspot.com/.

You can also listen to the audio recordings of my sermons at GEFC beginning this Sunday at http://www.gaylordefree.org/.

So no matter where you are and what situation you find yourself in, please remember, for the believer in Jesus Christ, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!! And if you ever find yourself in Northern Michigan - be sure to make contact with us! Blessings to all!

We will pray for safety as you start your new adventure in Gaylord. God has used you and Laura in the lives at Lititz. Now God is preparing hearts in Gaylord for the messages that God will direct you to speak to them. We are thankful for the internet so we can still keep in touch. God BLess you!!

Scott, You are a man of integrity and have been a great example to many of us what it really looks like to follow Jesus, especially when it really mattered. Thank you my friend! You have left a lasting mark on our hearts and you are greatly missed. We will be praying for you as you travel and make the transition to a new ministry. Amen! The best is yet to come!

We look forward to what God is going to do in Michigan but we leave with great satisfaction and humility in seeing what He did here in Pennsylvania as well! Blessings to you and your wonderful family, my friend!

I'm sad for those you're leaving behind in Lititz, I know how sad it was for OGBC when we lost you to them, but I am ECSTATIC that you're moving so close! Can't wait to see you & Laura. THose folks in Gaylord have no clue how blessed they are to have the two of you! I admit I'm jealous, but not terribly cause they'll be seeing the Hobbs visit Gaylord frequently~ (probably more frequently after baseball season since that occupies our weekends most of the summer!) Be safe in your travels tomorrow..as always our prayers are with you!
