The Gaylord E-Free Church

Laura and I are very excited to announce that this past Sunday the congregation of the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church (GEFC) in Gaylord, Michigan (a place that averages over 150 inches of snow each winter) issued a call for me to become their new Senior/Lead Pastor. I will begin my ministry with this wonderful local body of Christ-followers on Sunday, March 27th, which means we will be moving north in just 3 weeks. Over the next several blog postings I will share how God clearly directed us to this decision as well as sharing with you why we are so excited about living in Gaylord, Michigan and why I am absolutely thrilled to become a servant-leader to the church family of GEFC. If you would like to listen to my candidating message that I preached at GEFC on February 20th, you can do so by going to the GEFC website at http://www.gaylordefree.org/.

May God continue to bless you and your ministry. Thank you for all you did at Grace Church. My family and I will never forget how we have grown under your leadership. We've been looking but still not found a suitable replacement pastor. Thank you Scott! Maybe we can attend your church on-line! DRDAN

Congrats!! So happy for you, Laura, and the family. Just wondering if you had to disclose to the likely Wolverine faithful in the congregation your allegiances to the Buckeye nation?:))

Praying for you all during this time of transition.

Congratulations! I was looking at this recipe (http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/02/chicken-fried-steak/) today, and it reminded me of you. We're so excited for this ministry opportunity in Michigan! God bless!!

Thanks again to everyone for the very encouraging comments. We also want those of you in the Lititz area to know that Rick and Ginger Glass will be hosting a "drop-in" style open house for us at their place (22 Duffield in Lititz) on Saturday, March 12 from 6-8pm. If you would like to drop by to say "good-bye" we would enjoy seeing you. All four of us (kids will be home for spring break) will be there. Blessings to all of you!

Welcome Aboard Pastor Scott!

There is a buzz around GEFC...we are very excited!!!

@Heather (and others intersted)...unless Pastor Scott or Church Leadership decide otherwise...his weekly sermons will generally be posted to the GEFC website within moments after concluding.

@Ryan Snyder- He did! And we voted him in regardless. It shows the love and grace we up here in Northern Michigan extend to our weaker brothers and sisters in Christ ;) (He's lucky the sound guy didn't shut off his microphone!)

Thought you should know my former team is taking your team down on Friday. ;)

Pastor Scott said...

Ah, Rayn...If they do it will only be because of the "dirty playing" proven by those massive amounts of penalty minutes some of their former players tallied!!!!

Touche. Haha!
