Last Thursday, February 5th, on my blog I posted a picture of the team from Grace Church that is currently in the Central Afrian Republic (top picture above). I made the following comment in my blog that day about Matt McElravy, our Worship Arts Director here at Grace:
"Did you notice Matt’s eyes? The boy simply cannot have a picture taken of him without squinting. Is that some kind of psychological thing or what?"
In response, one person in our church (a single female who I have sworn to keep her identity confidential, especially from Matt) sent me two pictures of Matt to prove that he can have his mug photographed without squinting.
The first one is the middle picture above...I don't know...I think I may still qualify this one as "squinting"! Wouldn't you?
The second one is the thrid picture above. Alright, that one I can't argue with. His eyes appear to be wide open. But if any of you have any other pictures of Matt you would like critiqued, just send them my way (skdistler@lgbc.org).
In all seriousness, please continue to pray for Matt and the entire team in Africa!

Yes second picture he's squinting!! And wow is that serious concentration on his face!!Who would have picture our worship leader getting so serious into a game of GuitarHero?!!?! ha
Oh, anonymous, if you only knew!!!!!
Wow, so he CAN keep his eyes open!
And "single female"?? Does the single and very available Matt have a secret amirer??!
For Him,
Does Matt have a secret admirer? Are you serious?
Does spring follow winter? Do ducks quack? Does liquid manure stink?
OF COURSE MATT HAS SECRET ADMIRERS...MANY OF THEM!
HaHa! And yet he remains single!!
I suppose as per the "secret" admirering part!!
Hey For Him,
I've told him what girl in the church I think he should go after but he won't listen to me.
HaHa! Wow! Well that just leaves him still single and available and game for more of your teasing! And I am sure that if he does land a girl, we will all know it thanks to you!!!!
Right you are, For Him. I told him that when he does get married it needs to take place as part of our Sunday morning services. That means he would have to get married three times (to the same girl, of course)!
Pastor Scott, match-making??
Maybe a few blind dates are in order here...what interesting blog posts they could lead too.
ok....fill us in on who that girl is and what happens!?!?
I am not in the setting up of couples business. All I have doen is to make a friendly suggestion as to who Matt ought to pursue. The rest is up to him! Gee, I wonder if he is able to read all of these comments in Africa?
Yes, but, look... You can't tell us that then not at least HINT at who this young lady is!! You have to now!!
Sorry, anonymous...no dice!
Wow! Now I'm not going to get the fact of trying to figure out who that single lady is out of my head! Although, I have an idea!!!
To answer one of your comments, Scott, YES I can read these comments, and it's nice to see you've been having more fun at my expense while I'm off doing missions work and ministering to orphans in Africa. Tsk tsk tsk...
So here's what I suggest, to all of you loyal Scott Distler blog readers out there - if Scott can have this much fun with MY pictures, why don't we all have some fun with pictures of HIM??
If you have any embarrassing (or just plain hilarious) pictures of our Senior Pastor, please send them to my email address at the church, mjmcelravy@lgbc.org. You know what they say...what goes around comes around.
So folks, listen - send me those pictures!
P.S. We just arrived at the Chateau in France, and everything is going very well. We look forward to returning to the States in a little under 48 hours!
You just don't scare me, McElravy. And for your information, I am posting a somewhat embarrassing picture of myself on Feb 16. I'll even post whatever comment you make about it. After all, I'm all about fairness.
