Super Caricature

A little over a year ago I dressed up like Superman to help raise money in the "Race For Education" fund-raiser for Lititz Christian School, a wonderful school in Pennsylvania where both of my kids graduated. Those in Pennsylvania may also remember that I actually dressed up in the Superman outfit one Sunday prior to that to preach. Some of these pictures, unfortunately, are out there on the world-wide web (Scary thought, huh?)!

To my surprise and delight I received an email over the weekend from someone I do not know and have never met. He was looking to have caricatures done for all of his employees, making them look like superheroes. He was surfing the web for pictures to give the artist an idea and came across a picture of me dressed up as Superman. He sent the picture to the artist to see what he could do with it as an example. When the artist was done, this kind gentleman contacted me with this story and sent me a copy of the finished project (pictured above).

Actually, over my 24 years in ministry I have dressed up in many looks (a biker dude, a Portuguese fisherman, a hobo, a disco king, a hippie, Papa Smurf, a red M&M and many, many more!). One time, I even had to wear green panty hose and dress the part of Robin Hood. I am so glad the Internet was not around back then!

  3. Glad to hear you arrived safely, and started your ministry. I must admit I NEVER fell asleep during any of your sermons!! HAHA! You are quite creative. I can see God laughing and saying to the heavenly beings, " I created him this way, so whatever crazy way he uses to get people to hear the truth of My words, I'll have to take some credit." God bless you!!
