Over the last 2 years, Grace Church and Lititz Christian School has used our Birthday Gift for Jesus end of the year giving project to partner with Grace Brethren Churches in the Central African Republic by fully funding four Christian Schools for orphans. This has resulted in over 200 orphans getting a real chance in life through a hot meal each day and a sound education that includes teaching them the truth of Jesus Christ. We have even been able to provide a van to help get many of these orphans to school that otherwise would have no ability to get to school.
Tuesday, a team from Grace Church will be leaving for the Central African Republic to visit these schools and the churches that we partner with. The team includes Marlin Weaver (Marling and his wife, Sue, were missionaries in France, supported by Grace church, who are now on staff here at Grace); Mike and Joan McCracken (Mike is the chairman of our Mission Team); John Kegarise (John is the chairman of our church Elder Board); Matt McElravy (our Worship Arts Director); Doug Kegarise (our Director of Student Ministries); and Brenda Miller (our Early Childhood Director).
This team will leave the church Tuesday afternoon to get to Philadelphia in time for their evening flight to Paris. After spending all day in the Paris airport, the team will fly out of Paris on Wednesday evening and arrive in Bangui, C.A.R. on Thursday morning. Please be praying for the safety of our team and that God will do a great work in their hearts on this trip that will in turn impact all of us when they return to Grace. The tentative travel itinerary for the team is as follows:
